Same old, same old.

The post title tonight is not pertaining to my mood, but more or how I’m feeling about my blogging of late.

Day in, day out is same old-same old.

Other blogs out there are so much more entertaining than mine… and I’m running out of ideas how to keep it fresh. I’m noticing this is being reflected in the comments, well, the lack thereof.

The gist of my blog has become “I ate _________ and then I ran/went spinning/Body Combat” with a little of “Here is picture of my dog”

I know that I’m capable of much, much more. I’d like to fancy myself a decent writer and this little blog of mine has grown bigger than I ever could have imagined.

Please stick by me during this challenging (but totally rewarding) time of my career. Life has become 90% work, which leaves little to no time for healthy living. I squeeze in a workout when I can, and eat when I get hungry. Its a simple as that.

Now, on to the “same old, same old”

I went to spin class immediately after work. I’m feeling an odd sensation in my left shoulder pain. I suspect it may be from spending so much time in the car. I might hit up the hot tub in the Sports Complex for some muscle relaxation later on. That being said, there is a Habs game on and its also 24 night. Here’s hoping!

I arrived home absolutely famished. I had a quick snack of carrots and white bean dip to tide me over.

Dinner was easy, quick, yet delicious. Warmed balsamic chicken served over a bed of cesar salad with 1/2 a ciabatta bun.

For some odd reason, I love warmed chicken on salad. It makes everything a little soggy, and its sooooo good!

Alright, I’m out. A Habs game followed by some Jack Bauer. Life is good my friends!

I think we all get the blogging funk at one time or another.

I don't mind your "same old, same old!" I may not always comment, but I'll always be here to read :)

White bean dip is amazing! mmmm...

Hey now, all that "same" stuff is what got us all hooked in the first place! :)

I too am a big fan of the warm stuff on top of my cold salad. In fact, just wait for my dinner pics. :)

You have a dieting/active lifestyle blog (first and foremost, don't feel badly if it sounds the same most days! It's why we read it. If you want to blog about other things going on in your life, go for it...but I think you share your day to day with us really well.
I know I really like it when you write about your ups and downs...the honesty you share when you talk about the challenges of weight loss and healthy living is what keeps me coming back!!

A few reasons why I keep coming back for the same old, same old:

1) I am jealous of your brussels sprouts.
2) I am jealous of Jersey.
3) I am jealous of all the cool classes you attend.
4) I am jealous of how sweaty you get. (I am a wimp.)
5) I am inspired by your work-away-from home right now. Not jealous, but inspired.
6) I keep looking for a glimpse of the amazing sugar spread in your food pictures. I'm so jonesing!
7) You make a protein and 2 veggies look so appetizing.

And, as far as comments go? It never ceases to amaze me. The posts that I write on the fly are sometimes the ones that get the most attention. And the ones that I really think about get nothing. You never know.

Enjoy your tv tonight!

I'm reading too, I find I'm boring all the time but its just a hobby and my gosh life does get so busy to even think of entertaining things to say.

Your food gives me great ideas and I like to hear about your workouts.

Go Habs Go!

I love your blog! No need to change!

You don't need to change anything. I love the way you write your blog; You are much more devoted blogging, and even exercise, than I am!

PS - Could you please give me your chicken balsamic recipe?

Just keep going with it. And stick with simpler foods that require less prep and clean up when you're not in the mood to cook. Like the dip and carrots; it's always possible to eat healthfully with little time.

Found your blog today - fun to read!

Life is a process and so is the blog. I love having followers and comments, although I don't get many. I blog for me to clear my head and share than for anything else, so as much as I would love to think I'm inspiring someone with my thoughts, I know I'm not.

Your blog is good (great). There are things that will take the front seat (work right now), and then be in the background for a time. It's all good!

How about that Habs game??? I was screaming and loving every minute of it.

Always reading, but not always commenting. Not because your content doesn't interest me, but because I don't feel I always have much in the way of something different to say. Keeping up with 'friends' is what it's all about!

Have a great day!

Bah...if I didn't just have a bday, I'd be all: Hey I ran again, and did bootcamp, and worked, and then did spin. Way boring.
I'm not going anywhere.
Imagine the excitement when the HABS win game 7!

I have been reading your blog for a really long time (maybe 3 years??) but I'm terrible about commenting on any blog. But I wanted to drop you a line to say that I love your blog! It's one of my absolute favorites. You do such a great job of summing up your day, exercise and food in a fun & interesting way with great pictures.

I especialy enjoy what a great job you do with coming up with healthy & yummy dinner ideas and then describing how you got to then end result... ('I was feeling X' or 'I had Y leftover', etc) I defintely steal some of your menu ideas!

Don't worry if you don't feel like posting. I've had the same thing happen but I just take a break and before I know it I miss it and am right back at it again. :)

You're awesome, keep it up! :P

PS If you're at all interested my blog is private but if you email me at forkintheroad8@yahoo.com I'd be super happy to add you to the list.

I like "this is what I ate and this is the activity I did!". But I'm up to read anything!

Since I'm a fairly new blogger though, I know what you mean. I want it to be interesting but right now, time is of the essence. And I'm not being creative enough.

Good luck!

I'm definitely still enjoying your blog! I've just been reading on the go so I don't always comment when I should. Keep writing!
