I’m sitting here chowing down on my delicious lunch, watching a little Intervention. Sometimes I think I need an intervention from Intervention. I’m totally addicted!
On the menu: Avocado/tomato/old cheddar wraps, baby carrots and 1 tbsp of ranch for dipping.
Isn’t my new tablecloth cute? Its from Target, I procured it on our little road trip on Sunday. Post about all that coming soon!
Earlier in the week, I got an email from the lovely/inspirational/amazing Carolyn regarding my Dear Amy post. Carolyn was my Booty Camp instructor back in the fall, and I’m thrilled that she’s still following my little blog. Anyways, Carolyn offered a little piece of unsolicited advice regarding my (lack of) protein consumption. She reminded me that adding more protein will help me feel fuller longer. Basically, everytime I eat I should be asking “Where’s the Protein?”
So where was the protein in my lunch today?
- 2 tortillas = 6g
- Avocado = 1.7g
- 1 oz old cheddar = 7g
- 1 tbsp calorie wise ranch = 0.3g
- Tomato = 0.7g
Grand total of 15.7 g
Carolyn suggested I aim for at least 80 grams a day.
Clearly this lunch was lacking in protein, so I had a serving of greek yogurt and agave.
Alright, I gotta get back to the office. But first, I must pack. I’m going to my hometown tonight for a wake. I also plan to stop and get some baby snuggles from my cousin’s baby, and to watch the HABS KICK ASS with my Aunt. Should be a good night! :)

I love that you measured out the ranch dressing and kept the measuring spoon out.
I measure out everything, especially condiments because it's easy to go overboard. My mom thinks it's "too much" but I think she's just a little jealous that she doesn't have that kind of motivation ;)
Same with Rachael - love that you measured that ranch and used the spoon as the serving container.
With the protein, I've noticed the last 2 out of 3 weeks, I specifically got more protein in and actually did better with my losses for those weeks. WAY BETTER. It's got to be the protein! I need to track the actual grams though and see where I'm at.
I've been trying to add more protein into my day in hopes to finally fill the bottomless pit. I find lunches challenging. yours looks yummy!

The wrap looks great! I love avocado but I'm allergic :( Sometimes I'll eat it anyways and take some benadryl afterwards and pass out!
I'm watching my protein too- trying to keep it higher than my fats, which is harder than it seems! Will you keep posting protein counts on your dishes?
it's funny about the intervention show - i've told myself the same thing!!
i get completely addicted to it - even though watching it makes me in the saddest mood ever!! i've banned myself from watching it!!

Wow! 80 grams? I didn't realize I needed to shoot that high! But I've been thinking about protein a lay because I switched my breakfast to something with more protein and it's SO true! I am fuller longer! Nice! Thanks for passing on that info!
