Getting there

Well I survived another day.

I’m on the fence about whether or not to go home this weekend.

Part of me reallllllllly wants to go home, but part of me feels like its a lot of driving for just 2 short days at home.

But then part of me wonders what the hell I would do ALL day Saturday and Sunday. There are classes at the gym, but thats only 2 hours max.

What would YOU do?

I hit up Body Combat after work. It was a super workout as per usual, although, the instructor paled in comparison to my 2 favorite instructors in Ottawa. She had sort of a lisp, and did not really stay on the beat. This is a major irritation factor for me – being a music major and all.

I decided to whip up a stir fry for supper tonight. It not only made me dinner, but also 2 extra containers for lunches in the near future.

Sorry for the crappy picture with flash. There is ZERO natural light in my suite by the end of the day. The sun sets on the other side of the building, and there is a balcony over my patio door that prevents any light from coming in.

Thursday’s are my favorite TV night, so I’m going to get into my PJ’s and curl up in a blanket. Even though its not home, its pretty cozy here at night. Night!

Dinner looks amazing. I very seldom cook so good for myself when it's just me. I make oatmeal or something lame.

No advice on what you should do for the weekend.

Enjoy the Thursday night television in your jammies. I'm jealous since I'm still stuck at work!

i would go home 100%. the drive would be more than worth it to see my man. i can't believe you even have to decide. you think it would be a no-brainer.

I would definitely go home. Next week will seem really long if you don't, I think.

I think you would regret not going home...at least then if you do a "trial run" you'll know what to do in the weekends to come (if your away for multiple weekends!)

I'd say stick it out for the weekend - you'll enjoy it even more when you get home next weekend!

Thursday night TV is the best! Enjoy your night - and it's not a NO BRAINER by the way. It's a damn long drive, don't blame you for not being sure!!

I personally would go home. One good thing is you don't have to deal with winter weather while working away.Winter would be much tougher to be away...
That being said ,if you feel too tired to drive all that way and burned out from first week, then you may want to just rest up.Only you know what is best for you(I would go home though :)
Of course, never good to do long drives if overtired...risking one's life is not worth it!

That's awesome that you are cooking good foods for yourself, I'd probably live on Kashi cereal and VitaTops, lol.

Amy, I admire you sticking to working out and eating well given your new situation! I think i would curl into a big ball and cry. If I were you, i would get an audio book and head home for the weekend.

(I just finished Chasing Harry Winston and would totally recommend it!)

Hang in there hun!

I totally understand about being indecisive with the drive home. I make a trip home to my folk's place every couple of weeks, which is a 2 1/2 hour drive. I make this trip with a 3 year old if that makes you feel better!!

Turn up the music, and enjoy the drive home to your family!
