Ok.. so I was only supposed to give you 7 random facts, but I’m still in Mexico and you need more material to keep you busy until I come back!
Random fact #8: I grew up on top of a horse.
I started riding at a very young age, due to my Mom’s influence. She always had horses, so they were just a part of my life growing up.
She taught me how to ride, and I also took lessons at a local stable.
The buckskin (beige) below to the left is Bill. He was a product of her horse BJ. She lived long enough to see him be born, but unfortunately not long enough to see me ride him. Truth be told, he was a HANDFUL and I have never been bucked off a horse so many times in my life.
She also bought me Skippy before she died. (white faced guy below) Him and I developped and incredible bond and I had him for almost 10 years.
I make the very hard decision to sell him before going to university as I knew I wouldn’t have the time to look after him as I was going to school 4 hours from home.
I sold him to an 11 year old girl, which was how old I was when I got him.

I grew up riding horses too. I miss it a lot lately..
I pretty much grew up with horses too, though my parents had never been involved with them before. I quit riding when I got married, then picked it up again when my youngest was 5. I got back into the show world for a while but then decided it's really not my thing. We have three horses right now but planning to sell them this year. It's a great sport/hobby but it takes alot of dedication and money.
Awww! What great memories! Growing up, we lived on a farm but we didn't have horses. I always wanted one!

I think I could ride my pony before I could walk!
I still miss my old grey mare, Ginger (she's still on the farm). She's pushing 25 I think!
I've only ridden horses a few times and I've always been jealous of kids that practically grew up on a horse. It seems so cool.
aww... they're so beautiful!
I miss riding... I always share the story about being able to ride to school. Truly! I am not old either and just had the advantage of going to school in a small town with stampede grounds right beside the school. :0)
I would love to be able to give my son the experience more for both therapy and enjoyment but life situation does not allow it - I keep trying. :0) So every time we go somewhere that has even a trail ride, we go. :0)
Awww! How cute! My sister grew up riding. Her horse was a true character. One time as she was riding him he galloped off in another direction - straight towards my nana who was sitting in a chair - and leapt over her.

Jealous! I took lessons when I was an early teen but then stopped. I just started volunteering at a stable about a year ago and love it. I now work with Morgan horses. I wish I could afford to buy one. If I could, I'd do it in a heart beat!
Thanks for sharing.
