Stepping away from the health and fitness theme, I thought I’d talk about something a little more girly and fun.
A lot of people assume that I’m a bit of a tom boy, mainly due to my active lifestyle. People that know and see me the most, often see me in gym gear. Its funny, because when I see people I know from the Running Room or the gym when I’m dressed “normally” they never recognize me.
Truth be told, I’m really into make up.
Yesterday an early birthday gift arrived from one of my blog bestie’s Cat. Cat loves make up just as much as I do, so it was very fitting that she sent me some new product to test out.
Andrew is taking me out for an early Valentine’s day dinner, so I thought I’d test out my new make up and show you guys at the same time.
Amy, the blank canvas.
Moisturize and prep eye lids. I use MAC Paint in Bare Canvas to prime my lids.
I followed the look given on the inside of make up box.
Apply lilac vibe all over lid up to the crease.
With mineral make up you Swirl, tap and buff. I’ve been using mineral make up for a while now, but I will be honest, it took me a while to get the technique mastered. Especially for eye-make up.![]()
Apply “brushing bronze” eye color along the upper lash line and blend into the crease. (yes, I need my eyebrows done!)
Use “wild jungle liner shadow” to line upper lashes.
I also added a fine line on my lower lash line as I’m going for more of an evening look.
Apply mascara to upper and lower lashes.
I finish the look off I applied foundation, blush and lipgloss. I use Bare Minerals foundation also. I find people either LOVE it, or hate it. I think its the best thing that has ever happened to my complexion.
For those looking to try mineral foundation, I highly recommend this starter kit from Bare Minerals.
The biggest complaint I often read about mineral foundation is that its flaky. The key to avoid this is two fold: moisturizer and PRIMER. I use Prime Time.
Here’s the final look using the lip gloss and blush that came with the kit.
Thanks for the gift Cat! xoox
I also painted my nails using the shade Jen sent me at Christmas.
Because love is in the air, I’ll leave you with the gift I got Andrew many moons ago on our first dating anniversary,
Anyone recognize the background on this picture?
This was also our wedding song.
Enough mush for now!

I love your makeup! I wish I knew how to do my makeup. Mine's the same everytime I wear it, which is maybe twice a month. haha
