Runs this week are 2 for 2! 2 solid runs in a row.
But first I must backtrack a little bit.
Today was pretty rough. I’m having some friend issues which are starting to take a toll on me. I arrived home from work feeling pretty sad. The couch and Y&R were calling my name.
Then the following thoughts went though my head:
“Maybe, I should just go for a walk”
“I deserve a rest day”
“I never regret a run”
Then I caught a glance of Jersey’s “I am so abused and have the worst life ever” look, immediately changed and hit the streets.
I ran 5k, and you know what? I felt great afterwards. I ran off my bad mood and came home to make a feast.
Tomorrow marks the debut of Lent. What are YOU giving up this year?
I’ve decided to go chocolate free again this year, along with the gorgeous Jess and some other Twitter buddies.
I whipped up some pancakes to commemorate pancake Tuesday. I made them from scratch and topped them with some fruit and FF Cool whip. On the side: 2 little slices of bacon. YUM!
The best part about having pancakes for supper? I didn’t need any dessert!
Off topic, and not related to health/fitness in the slightest. Andrew’s birthday is on Saturday, and mine is on Sunday. Our birthday cards arrived from my mother-in-law today. She always sends us separate cards, but they always arrive on the same day. For some reason I think its just adorable.
My Dad on the other hand usually buys me a “Happy Birthday Daughter” card and adds Andrew’s name to it. It was funny the first time, but it still hasn’t gotten old for him. Jackass.
Time to watch some hockey/Idol/Lost. Night all!
*Yes, I know I blog about Jersey too much. But hey, she's cute and leads a healthy lifestyle too!*

YAY I'm so glad to be doing this with you for the next 40 days:) WE CAN DO THIS! :) And I'm proud of you for going for a run! GO AMY GO!
Amazing job going for the run. Beautiful dog.
Friend issues can be oh so stressful. I'm going through some crap myself so I feel for you. Keep strong - you are a great inspiration.
Mmmm, pancakes! Yum. And congratulations on your run...
Hmmm. Maybe I should give up soda? I'm not religious or anything but it's worth a shot. Yes?
Oh boy. I love pancakes.
Wow. My husband and I each by cards for my Mom for her birthday, mother's day, etc. The same with his parents. That has GOT to suck. If our Birthday's were close to each other and someone did that, I would hate it. You're not the same person.
Also-I love your dog.
Way to go on the run! Jersey is so freaking beautiful... and cute! Something about Golden's... they are just so friendly and lovable!
Sorry about the friend stress. It's not fun!
Good luck on the chocolate for Lent... I really should consider it myself!!!
I'm not giving up anything for Lent. I'm Presbyterian and we don't do that! lol
Congrats on your 2 for 2!
Way to stick to your run, even after a crummy day!
Great job on the run. Can I just say I love that picture of your dog. It's priceless. Sorry about the issues with your friends. I hope it works out. BTW... I enjoyed reading your blog. So glad I found it.
Paula
you do not post too much about your dog! she's adorable!!! and congrats on making it out for a run. I know I wouldn't have gone...way to go!
Glad to hear your are back in the swing. Hope your friend issues sort themselves out. A friend of mine posted this the other day.
I've learned that no matter how much I care, some people are just idiots. I've learned. . . that we don't have to change friends if we understand that friends change. I've learned that no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.
I love to hear about/see Jersey! :) Glad that you ran out your funk
Sorry to hear you're going through some stuff with a friend. Being having some of that myself. Not fun, but I'm not wasting anymore time on feeling bad about it. Hopefully your situation turns around.
I think you post a good amount of Jersey. She is too cute not to share! Your blog - your life.
I'm giving up Coke Zero. I drink one per day and it had to quit.
Jersey is adorable, and for me a much welcome addition to your blog. So cute!
You're right, you never regret a run!
Those pancakes look like the best dinsert (yes it's a word!) ever.
