Random fact #2: Jersey isn’t my first golden retriever.
Meet Chloe, my childhood dog.
Chloe was a huge part of my childhood. I have so many great memories of this dog.
My Dad initially got her to be a hunting dog, to retrieve ducks. However, on her first time out after one gunshot she ran back to the house and cowered in her dog house. That was the beginning and end of her hunting career.
She lived a good long life, and was tragically hit by a the oil truck (in our own driveway!) at the age of 12.
Golden retrievers really are the best!

Your dad must have a lot of patience. Training a hunting dog is not easy! My brother once taught the stupidest dog on the planet to be a hunting dog. It took him for-ever. He's a teacher now and teached Grade 8 kids. I'm sure he'd rather be back teaching that brainless pup!

Goldies are such a family dog... I miss ours. :0( My son and 'Buster' used to dress up as Batman running around the house, and when it was bedtime, both their heads would cower and then they would turn around and saunter to bed.

Ahhh.. what a cutie. Our golden is 13, but he still thinks he's a puppy.
Oh she was beautiful. As I have mentioned before I adore your Jersey because she reminds me so much of my childhood dog, Autumn, who was also a Golden. I only had her for 2 years before she died suddenly of a ruptured tumor. But she was the best dog I ever had.
I shall kidnap your beautiful Jersey while you are away. I want one. bwahahaha. mwah.
They are the best dogs, had mine for 13.5 years.
