Andrew and I like to party hard, that I cannot deny. However, we're not ones to party when its just the two of us. Truth be told, when we were away on our honeymoon we were likely in bed by 10pm everynight! Last year, however, when we went to Cuba with friends was a completely different vacation. We drank our faces off and rocked the disco just about everynight. I came back from that trip 11 lbs heavier if I recall correctly. I struggle a lot with the "all or nothing" mentality, better known to me as the "Fuck it, I'm on vacation" mentality. This year I'm setting some goals to hopefully prevent myself from falling off the healthy bandwagon.
My Mexico Goals:
1) Walk or run every day
2) One trip to the buffet per meal. Thats IT.
3) Keep delicious fruity alcoholic drinks to a minimum.
4) Stay hyrdated
Don't get me wrong, I plan to enjoy my vacation... but there is no reason for me to go crazy.
When times get tough, I'll just remind myself I'm working towards a romantic getaway, errr, workout weekend with Paul Plakas! :)

*giggles* Those are fantastic goals. I can't wait to see you achieve them! Good luck.
and, um. That romantic getaway? Yeah, it's MINE.
;)

You can stick to those goals no problem. Enjoy it! Frig I wish I was going!
The running or walking every day will make all the difference.
Paul is going to looooooove you!
I just found your blog and look forward to reading more but before I do that I wanted to tell you to have an awesome time in Mexico. It sounds wonderful!
I usually have the same "Fuck It" approach to vacations too. But the last few times away from home, I left with goals. Some where broken but it was still much better than nothing at all.
Have Fun!!
Fantastic vacation goals! Have a great time! :)

Amy, we had a Mexican "party" vacation in November (during Hurricane Ida, but that is another story). We love our drinks to (especially when there is nothing else to do but watch the torrential rain), but most of us switched over to manderin vodka with soda, splash of OJ. Nice switch when the margs have become too sweet and tart that they have closed your throat off! Enjoy! Wish it was me!
I think those are totally realistic goals! Have fun, but don't over do it - good plan!
I'm going to Mexico in April and am already thinking about how to stay healthy! I like the idea of running each day...I am thinking morning beach run before even stpping into my bathing suit! Also, swimming betweek flipping sides on my pool chair;) I went a couple years ago and the hotel offered yoga on the beach...very cool!
Oh, what a wonderful vacation you have coming up! Enjoy fully.
Oh have fun!! I hope you do. It's looks beautiful. Can't wait for pictures and to hear all about it.
Love the goals. You're going to do fine.
I totally get the "all or nothing" problem. I even struggle with that sometimes when I allow myself to have a 'cheat day', like today. I hope you have a great vacation! And good luck sticking to your goals, you can do it!
your activity/moderation goals are impressive! I just got back from Vegas and stuggled with the Buffets! (sooo delicious) Good luck and have a blast!!
Having never gone away to Mexico, Cuba or anywhere similar, I have to say, I'm jealous. Green isn't a great colour on me, but I'm currently wearing it.
I think you have the ability to enjoy your holiday and still be active.
Have fun!
Those are amazing vacation goals!
when I go to the all inclusive in Mexico I also only ever use a small plate for my meals.
It is SO hard not to go crazy on vacation. Those are some great goals though! Im' sure you'll be fine!
Have a great trip!!!
haha... I'm in the "F it" camp. But good for you! I'm so happy that you get such a rockin' vacation! I hope you enjoy every minute of it!
