Yep. That about sums it up.
The holidays are always a little rough in my world, and this weekend was no different. I spent a lot of this weekend doing absolutely nothing feeling sorry for myself.
Rather the regale you all with my woes, I’ll just skip it and move 00on to today.
Started the day off right with a salad in a glass: Almond breeze, spinach, berries, banana and orange juice.
I hit up the gym for Body Combat. That class is like therapy to me. I love punching/kicking the air. Totally therapeutic.
Arrived home and whipped up some comfort food. A cup of tomato soup with grated old cheddar and 2 slices of whole wheat toast.
Dinner tonight was one of Andrew’s favorites: Pulled Pork. Its super easy, AND economical. I just used a $15 pork loin roast from Costco, trimmed the fat off, threw it in the slow cooker with some salt/pepper, onions and 2 cans of root beer. Cooked on low for 10 hours. After it was cooked, I shredded it and added some BBQ sauce and some of the cooking liquid et VOILA. Deliciousness. We’ll be eating this all week I suspect. I also whipped up some baked beans, and a side of brussel sprouts. Amazing meal!
In other news, we got Jersey her first pair of boots! She loves the winter, but is turning into a bit of a wimp because the snow gets stuck between her toes. Dosn’t she look depressed in these pictures? She totally rocked her first walk! She walked slightly awkward for a while, but once she got the hang of it she was good to go.
I’m looking forward to a short week. Sadly, I’m not taking any holidays over Christmas. I’m totally bummed about this news. I love having the week between Christmas and New Years off. But, I’m the new guy on my team… and SOMEONE has to be at the office. Sadly, thats me. Ah well, I’m taking a week off at the end of January to go to Mexico. That will have to do.
Good night!

Jersey's boots are tres trendy! Hope you lift yourself out of the dumps soon. I think holidays can be very tough on some people, and the happiness of everyone else is likely very grating. ((hugs))
Those shoes are HILARIOUS on him.
hang in there this week...the hecticholiday season will be over in a FLASH.
love,
MizFit who adores the sloths.
The boots are awesome! Do you mind if I ask where you got them?
Sorry you're feeling blue. If it helps at all, I find the holidays hard too and so do a lot of people, for varying reasons. Misery loves company? (hug)
Jersey in boots? Priceless! That is so freaking cute. Don't worry the holidays will be over before we know it and we can get back to normal. I'm only worried about Christmas. I know I tend to eat like a sow.
I definitely have to get Bear some boots, I thought he was going to hurt himself the other night with the funky "I have snow balls in my toes" dance. Hope I can find a pair as cute as Jersey's
Jersey looks so cute with her boots on!
Sorry to hear that the holidays are a little tough for you!
Love the boots, wish I could get my pup to wear some. She doesn't like anyone grabbing her paws. Sorry to hear you have to work between the holidays. Hope you manage to have some fun in spite of it. Hope have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
That pulled pork looks yummy! I might need to be trying that VERY soon!
Hi Amy,
I'm wondering what you do with your brussels sprouts? They always look so delicious.
