Morning Rev Up

homepage3

I know I’ve been raving about Group Fit, but I just can’t get enough.

On top of the amazing workouts, Carolyn has been sending us challenges – sometimes nutrition focussed , sometimes fitness focussed.

This week she’s challenged us to do a mini workout each morning. I thought I’d share it with you guys because its a great mini workout!

If you want a longer workout, do this routine two - three times.    This 10 minute routine is designed to increase your metabolism, tone up and get your day started on a healthy note.

25 jumping jacks
25 deep squats with weights
25 half burpees (in a plank position feet jump in towards chest and back out)
25 shoulder press with weights
25 sit ups (holding a dumbell)
Rest 1 minute
10 burpees
10 squat jumps
10s. mountain climbers
10 push ups
30 bicycle crunches
Rest 1 minute

I did this mini workout this morning, and even though its only about 10 mins of exercise its amazing how much it wakes you up. I did it in the bathroom in my pjs. Note to self: Put on a bra next time! :)

Get revved up!! WOOOOO!

thanks for sharing Amy, always looking for a new routine, gonna have to give it a try!

The one problem I have with these types of rountines is that my son sits on my stomach when I'm doing sit ups or crunches, and my little dog licks my nose when i'm doing planks :-)

Sorry I clearly am having issues typing this morning! the deleted comments are mind!

YUP, definitely would need a bra to do those exercises ;o) I need a work-out I can do at my friends house tonight while I watch her kids and this may be the trick - thanks!

Yes...I agree about needing the bra thing...

I'll know I'm a fintess fanatic when I get down on my floor in my bathroom to do burpees (whatever they are!) :)

This post makes me see that there are lots of every day things I can do to improve my fitness level though and it doesn't always require tons of planning and gear. Well, except a bra of course!

Hey it's a workout for me to get out of bed before 7 am right now. I'm not a morning person too much now a days, used to be before my 3 kids but not anymore.
I'm challenging myself to workout 7 days this week, so far so good, tonight will be the deal breaker as this is always a long day for me, so I'll tell you how I did tomorrow :)

I've been reading your blog some more and I notice that you never talk about your weight as you were loosing it? Or am I missing something?

What a great idea...I wrote it down and plan to stick it on my bathroom mirror for the morning!

Love this idea, and this workout sounds amazing! I am going to use it on my 12 hour days for a great start to the morning. And maybe I'll do it when I get home from my 12 hour day also, will make me feel like I made an effort on those days! Thanks for posting!
