90… errr 96 mins?!

Today I broke a personal record.

I had big plans to go to Body Flow. Now, if you’ve been reading for a while you would know that yoga and I, are NOT buddies. I totally envy those that have embraced it, but for me there’s just not enough action.

Anyways, I arrived at the gymbo only to see the HUGE sign on the front does reads “BODY FLOW CANCELLED” Shit. This particularly caused a problem since it was 4:15 and Andrew wasn’t scheduled to pick me up until 6h30!

I jumped on the treadmill and stared running while Young and the Restless was on. 60 mins later, I was still feeling pretty good… so I pulled a Forrest Gump and I kept on running. I ran on that sucker for 90 mins and cooled down for 6. That is the longest I have ever ran on a treadmill. Usually just running 30 mins just about does me in mentally. I was a sweaty disgusting mess when all was said and done, but I felt AMAZING.

I’m kind of in Friday mode with tomorrow being Remembrance Day. I work for the gov’t so I have the day off. Friday is usually the night that I indulge in a healthy treat, and given my HUGE workout tonight I knew that pizza was on tap!

I had 1/2 (500 cals) of the pizza I wrote about here with a moutain of cesar salad (made with FF dressing of course) on the side.  IMG_3313

So. friggin. Good.

I think I might go soak in the tub and attempt to finish New Moon. I’m not loving this book, and its taking me a long time to read. I loooved Twilight and read it in about 3 days. This one, not so much. Do they get better after New Moon?

Kinda of random I just got out of the tub and am about 30 pages from finishing New Moon (for the 3rd time, yeah I'm a geek)!

Amy - you are awesome. You are so amazing and so in shape - you are such a huge motivation and a great role model for healthy living.

Question for you - what speed should I run at on the treadmill? Keep in mind that while you are a 96 minute machine I can only do sets of 5:1 :)

Hi!

Started following your blog about a week ago - very inspiring, thank you! Also fed. gov. worker from Ottawa, woohoo for day off tomorrow!

Congrats on 90 minute run - that is amazing!!!

And yes, does get better, 3rd book was my fave. (Though I liked New Moon. I think it depends if you're team Edward or Jacob.)

Ciao!

That is awesome! I impressed myself with a quick 45 min.....
I SWEAR that I 'tweeted' that I ran like Forrest before I read this.
Seriously, I swear....

holy hell woman! 90 minutes!! One day I shall be like you.

Eclipse is better, but the last one takes for-freaking-ever. Still a great story, she just could have spit it out instead of dragging out every little detail.

That's the pitfall of them being written for teens...she hand feeds a lot of the storyline that is pretty obvious.

I still like em though!

Tasha...sorry butting in...try starting somewhere around 4.5 and adjust from there. I used to run at 5 and have now figured out my comfort zone is actually 4.4.

you are my hero Amy, 90 minutes on the treadmill is something that I don't think I could do. I hate the treadmill. but in the winter it's becoming a reality.

Good for you!

New moon gets better at the end, when darling Edward, comes back. Sorry....didn't mean to ruin the ending, and I didn't really.....but just so that you know it DOES get better when he's back in the picture...

I felt the same thing about New Moon. The others are better, but it was a bit of a letdown after Twilight.

And holy sh1t - 96 mins on the treadmill.

Wow! 90 minutes is awesome!!! Must have been a good Y&R episode ;) I'm lovin' Body Flow these days. Yoga and I have had a bit of a rocky past as well...

I just finished reading New Moon again, and didn't like it as much the second time around. It's worth getting through just to get to the craziness that happens in the fourth book though!

Thanks Jaime. I'd been doing 5.5-6.5 and figured it might be a bit too much and I guess it was :)

That is crazy, crazy, amazing. You ran close to a 1/2 marathon on the treadmill! What a great accomplishment.:-)

yes, new moon gets better. book 3 is awesome, book 4 not so much. i can't believe you ran for 90 minutes on the treadmill. i'm with you on the 30 minutes - usually that's enough for me and i save longer for outside.

WOW! That is so awesome that you accomplished that. It's so hard sometimes to switch our focus when we are faced with an obstacle (yours being class cancelled), but the fact that jumped on the treadmill and got it done is amazing!

OMG the 3rd and 4th are to die for. Yes, New Moon took me forever too, plus was it me or does Jacob just get annoying! LOL
And wow, 96 mins...! Super job man!
PS Enjoy your day off... wish I was that lucky! :P :)
