One of the joys of working for the federal government comes the ridiculous language testing. I currently occupy a bilingual position and my french levels have expired. I am retesting at the end of the month. To assist me in preparing for the exam I have hired a lovely french teacher to coach me along the way. She lives on the other end of the city, so I was thrilled when she said she does online classes.
This allowed me to hit up the gym after work for spinning, and rush home to get ready for french. By get ready, I mean change into my PJ pants and Andrew’s hoodie! I learn MUCH easier when I’m cozy! I’m sure the teacher has NO idea that I was sitting there in my jammies!
For supper I made a delicious, filling meal. Warm bok choy and mushroom salad, topped with a little left over chicken breast.
Sautee garlic and mushrooms in a little EVOO for about 7 minutes. Reduce heat, add 1/2 cup chicken broth, ginger, chili flakes, and chopped bok choy. Allow to simmer until bok choy has wilted. Top with a little sesame oil and toasted sesame seeds.
Super easy and healthy! YUM!

That looks so good!!! I have some broccoli that I bet would enjoy a similar treatment. :)
How do the classes work? Do you just converse and she corrects you, etc.?
I would love to be able to take a class like that around here too. I took French Immersion from grade 7-12 and while I can still read and understand a conversation well, there's no way in hell that I can speak properly. :)
They did the chat over a video chat, similar to a Skype call or Google Video chat. Of course if your Internet goes down, that would be a problem...
Food looks yummy. Good luck with your french testing.
Amy! We so have the same french teacher.
La Dame Dragon?
She's awesome!
I was raised bilingual as a kid, French and Dutch and now I barely use my French so it sounds disastrous! Good luck with the exams! :)
