I was charging my 205 yesterday to go out for a run. Much to my dismay, right as I was getting ready to leave (after an hour of charging) there was a black screen of death.
NOOOO!
I started to panic a little bit. Okay, I panicked a lot.
But then I thought I would use my good friend Google to see if it was a common problem. Sure enough, it was.
To bring Mr. Garmin back to life, press the "Mode" and "Reset" buttons at the same time. Let go of those two buttons after 2 seconds and then pressing the power button the unit will turn back on.
Crisis Averted! :)

whew! I would have panicked too! thanks for letting me know a solution before I need it, I love those kind of tips :0)
I have to go buy a Garmin - do you love your model?
I had a similar crisis with my iPhone the day before I left for our Disney vacation. Learned how to reset it also -- press the top power button the the home button until it resets. Crisis avoided for sure. I was ready to pay $400 for a new one on the spot :)
Glad you got it 'fixed'!
I've been thinking about getting one of these - worth it for a new runner?? :)
