15 Week Challenge

15_week_challenge

Good morning,

For lack of a better phrase, I’ve totally shit the bed with this challenge.

When I first began, I honestly had NO idea how much work it would be to run this challenge.

Combined with quite possibly THE MOST hectic summer ever (note: house hunting an hour away from your current residence is brutal), this challenge has completely fizzled out… which is 100% my fault.

The summer is over.

Weekends are becoming mine again.

What shall we do about this challenge?  Do we pick up where we left off? Do we cancel it? Do we ‘start fresh’ for the remainder of the challenge?

I usually pride myself in being a person that starts what she finishes. This has not been the case and I sincerely apologize from the bottom of my heart for letting you all down.

It's not just you...I've been crap at this lately too. But this week I'm back at it. So if you want to keep going then I'll re-commit as well!!

I say we start fresh! I'm onboard! I wonder if posting our weights in a comment on a weekly post would make things easier for you? That way you could post results maybe every two weeks and if people were really curious they could just read the post?

Hmmm...well I've just kept on sending you my weigh ins every week assuming others were doing the same and maybe we'd check in at some point - I guess if enough others have been doing thst or keeping track on their own we could pick up where we left off. I also wouldn't mind starting fresh if you have the time now. I'd hoped to interact with other challengees and would love it if we could still make that happen :)

I say start fresh...I think the summer got away from a lot of people!!!

I have no problem with any of those options. I have, for the most part, been keeping up with the challenge, so picking up where we left off would work. I also have no problems starting fresh. Honestly, you are the moderator, so pick the option that will work best for you. I would like it if the challenge kept going, mainly because of the encouragement and sense of accomplishment I got at the end of the week.

I think everyone is pretty much in the same boat as you Amy, so don't feel like you are the only one.

This summer was brutal and as much as I wanted to stay on track and kick some major ass in this challenge...I haven't.

I would LOVE to start anew!!!

I had started this challenge at the beginning and did ok for the first few weeks but then kind of stopped :( I would love a fresh start. I read in a magazine that september in the new January when it comes to getting back on track with things.
Let us know Amy if this challenge is going to continue or restart, I sure hope it does :)

First off, don't beat yourself up about this! Life happens and priorities change.

Secondly - I'm game for whatever the majority is.

Would it be easier to start fresh and perhaps have a couple of volunteers (I'm up for it) help you consolidate the info?

Amy it's totally cool. I think Summer is just a hard time for everyone. I know the last month has been absolutely hectic for me.

I say we start fresh.

I'm in serious need of a do over. Pretty please. I went crazy this summer and got sooooo far off plan. I promise to do better if we can start fresh. With the holidays coming up, most of us probably need a good challenge like this.

Start fresh! I just started my diet yesterday....summer IS over...and now I'm back to regular routines. No more excuses. I'll be happy to jump on this challenge now if you're ready to restart!

It's okay. I'd just echo your other participants, and start over.

Don't beat yourself up about it, kiddo. I couldn't BELIEVE the number of people that signed up! I would never have been able to moderate such a thing.

Starting fresh is a good option. If you are sure you're up for it. Maybe something with much simpler rules. No weekly whatevers to keep track of? Weekly weights and then total percentage of weight lost equals the win?

Whatever is simple and most feasible to the one in charge gets my vote!

I'm glad you had a great vacation! I miss living in Toronto so much.

we start afresh.... !!!!!
I'm ready... and not quitting now!

A new start would be great!!! In my opinion, there is no need for any exercises and weekly challenges ... so that it'll less work for you!? :)

You're not the only one...I signed up and was SOOO motivated, but then I got caught up in trips and summer events...I just think its a bad time for challenges. I think fresh Start is a great idea! Do you mean a new 15 week challenge starting now?

Since I got bronchitis at the beginning of August and am JUST able to work out again, I say DO OVER! But I can understand if other people who have been consistent want to just pick up where we left off.

Also, if you do start over, I think it's totally fine to reuse some of the challenges.

Amy: You can only do the best you can with what you have. If you don't have time, so be it. No apologies necessary. I'm still in if you are! Starting over or continuing, either way works.

Jen said...

I think Krista said it BRILLIANTLY at the end there!!!

You don't have to apologize - EVER!!

Allison said...

I think what would help you is to let people keep track of their own weights using something like google spreadsheets and then sharing the sheet with everyone so that we can keep track of our own weights instead of you having to do everyone's.

Don't worry about the challenge getting away from you. It's a huge undertaking! I think we were all just grateful to have a kick in the butt. :)

Can we start fresh with maybe five weeks instead of 15? Less overwhelming all around? Just a suggestion. (I haven't read all the other comments, so forgive me if someone's already suggested this).

I wondered what happened. Thanks for being so honest and forthright about it. :o)

I say do over too! I too got swept away this summer and would like a new challenge. *Maybe* it'll keep me from going bonkers when I go to Disney for my daughter's Make A Wish trip next month.

I'm with whatever everyone wants to do. I sort of forgot to send you my last couple of weigh in's but I've been going along with my diet and haven't given up. A do over would probably be good for everyone it seems.

Lex said...

I agree with Krista & Jen!!

Do not apologize - life has been hectic for most of us!

Do whatever is best for you. I think we all totally understand. Life always gets in the way of your good intentions.

Girl, I have such a problem following any challenge long-term. I can't imagine running one! I'll be back in for whatever you decide!

I think most people are in the same boat as you Amy!

I'll go with whatever works best for you!

No apologies needed! I know I dropped the ball as well. That being said, I'm ready to start over....my brother's wedding is a year from now...I'm on a mission!

The summer got away from me also . . . I'd be perfectly happy to start fresh with a different challenge.
