So... this is a weight loss/fitness blog. This post has nothing to do with either. I am a very distraught dog owner today.
We were in my home town for the weekend, and decided to try a new groomer that came recommended by my cousin. I should probably mention that my cousin has a 8lb poodle... the complete opposite of my 60lbs golden retriever.
Not that you care... but if you check out this link you will see what a properly groomed golden looks like.
Here's what my dog looks like: Judging by the look on her face, she's also pretty upset about her new 'do!

This is a closeup of her ear. The groomer managed to completely miss spots, and made it jagged. She even trimmed the outside of her ears. :(
Jersey's chest... no more nice 'mane'

Perhaps a little graphic to show her "mrs" on the internet, yes, but she is NOT a poodle.

Here's a picture of where they took a huge chunk out of her side.

I just hope people don't think that I decided to get a little scissor happy. Needless to say, we won't be returning for her services.
Its a good thing she's cute... so she can totally work her shitty hair cut. As my Dad said, a crappy hair cut only lasts for a few days. :)

OH my! What a botched up job! That is CRAZY! Poor little pup!
Thanks for posting a link to my site - good luck in the draw!!!!
And I STILL have to email you my running questions...I need some help!!!!!
Cheers!
Hi Amy, I have followed your blog for quite a while as well as Laura's. You have been so wonderful helping in the weight loss part of my life lately and yo have a golden. I also have a golden who has had some pretty funky hair cuts. His breeder is the only one that can cut him, but she doesn't live close by. They do look pretty funny with their different hair cuts, but at least they have no clue, as they know you love them no matter what!!! I wish I felt the same after some of my haircuts.
Hey,
My boss has bigger dogs (not goldens but some other breed) she takes them to the doggy spa on Bank Street. (They seemed nicely groomed to me, but I don't have one so I don't know.)
OMG what the heck were they thinking???????
Jersey is STILL a cutie pie no matter what!! I mean, just look at that precious face!
Thankfully the fur should fill in shortly!
That is a TERRIBLE job!!!
I love how she looks so sad!!!
I keep wanting to get Charlie groomed...but I think he would want to jump all over the groomer and he would end up with a terrible job because he just wouldn't sit still!!!
Oh geeze, poor Jersey! Your Dad is right though...at least it's only for a short while. Booo to the crappy groomer!
Poor pretty puppy. Even with her botched haircut she's a beauty.
Nice butt shot!
LOL, your poor dog!
Makes me chuckle but I would be so mad if that happened to our dog. Definately not professional. Guess Jersy can see a glimpse into life as a poodle until it grows back.
Poor Jersey! I must say I have never had my Border Collie/Retreiver/Newf (and who knows what else) groomed, we just let him rock his shag!
